Simplicity

Simple food for the sick

Signed out of school today for the first time in my life. I made history today!

Prepared a salad for recess tomorrow cos my stomach can't take dairy products (except cheese :P) and fried food. For now. :-)

I love this one dish meal as it is so easy to prepare and you can just store it in the refrigerator for the next day or eat it immediately. Only takes less than 15 minutes!

Hahahah!

Ingredients:
• One head of butterhead
(that's what it's really called!)
• 4 Crabsticks
• 1 small onion
• Grated cheese

Peel the good leaves of the butterhead and rinse them thrice.
Place them in a basket and dry them by shaking the basket and letting it sit for 5 minutes.

Place 4 crab sticks into a bowl of water and microwave it for 3 minutes.
Take it out and slice it.

Peel the first layer of the small onion away and slice it up - bite sized.
Rinse the onions.

Grate your block of cheese or use store bought grated cheese.

Place all together and mix well!

Feel free to add in more ingredients of your own choice.

Top it off with balsamic vinegar, some olive oil or thousand island! Enjoy your healthy meal:-)

Secondly,
I made Hasselback potatoes!
These are really simple to make and further more, they taste really really good.

Ingredients
• Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
• Fine sea salt
• Black pepper
• Olive oil
• Grated cheese
• Butter

Preheat your oven to 210 degree Celsius.

Rinse and scrub the potatoes. You can choose either to peel the skin off or leave it there. I chose to leave it there!

Slice the potatoes thinly but not all the way to the end so that the sections are still connected to the base.

Sprinkle the sea salt and black pepper on the potatoes. Ensure that the insides are coated too!

Douse the potatoes with olive oil and bake them into the oven for 60 minutes (Russet) or 50 minutes (Yukon Gold).

Ten minutes before the potatoes are done, take them out and put your cheese atop the potatoes.

Take the potatoes out when the timer is done and serve hot with a spoon of butter!

What I like about this recipe is that you can eat the potatoes with any sauce you desire - sour cream, butter, tomato sauce etc and it still tastes delectable. Try it out!!

What's in my cosmetics pouch? (January)

What's in my cosmetics pouch!

My mum bought this cosmetics pouch for me in Thailand and I love it cos it comes with a built in mirror so that I can use it in emergencies or when my friends or I want to put on make up ahaha. (Jia Ning and Candy especially)

It only costs around $4-5 so do check it out if you go to Thailand! Super worth the money.

Gonna be sharing about what I carry around! It may change occasionally so I'll share it 2-4 monthly!

1. Volume Lash Fiber
Its by some Japanese brand and I got it in Watsons! Just check out the Japanese cosmetics section and you'll probably be able to find it.

2. Moisture Care Lip Balm - Nivea
This is so essential for my everyday usage as I have really dry lips. Can be found in Watsons too.

3. Born Lippy - The Body Shop
Blogged about this before and how I love it a lot! Check out the other post here.

4. Hyper Glossy Liquid Liner - Maybelline
Best liner ever! The brush is really thin and its really easy to apply on.
It can also be removed with water which is a pro and con at the same time  - Can be removed without oil based makeup removals
- can't be worn when you're feeling emotional

5. Clear Smooth BB Stick - Maybelline
Glides on easily and conceals well too.  yay for this!

6. SPF130 Sunblock - Sunplay
Sunblock is super important in maintaining your skin! Its like the most most most important step you should take everyday. I know we all like to have that tan and glowy skin but the UV rays are very damaging and we should start taking care of our skin NOW.

7. Gardeners Hand Therapy - Crabtree & Evelyn
I love Crabtree & Evelyn's moisturizers and I have a few of them. I personally like the smaller sized ones as they are light enough to carry around.

8. Daisy - Marc Jacobs
Always carry a small bottle of perfume around! Smell good, look good.

9. Powdered Oil Clear Paper - Gatsby
Singapore is really humid and somehow it causes more oil to be secreted so this is vital in keep our faces oil free! This one is powdered too thus giving your face a cleaner feel.

That's all for today!

Cookinz

Have been on a cooking spree recently to pack food to school! Yummmmz!

I am really free & easy cook so my recipes don't contain the exact numbers and figures. It's all "agar-ration"! Sometimes the best way to cook is to explore!

Sadly I only have photos of these two!
Do check out my hashtags #keldacancook and #keldacanbake on Instagram! :)

Recipes:

1. Ham Mushroom & Cheese

Ingredients:
* Button mushrooms (black ones & sliced)
* Your preferred choice of ham (sliced)
* Your preferred choice of cheese

Steps!
1. Sauté garlic and onions with a drizzle of
olive oil till it turns slightly brown.
2. Add in the mushrooms and the ham and stir.
3. When the mushrooms turn soft, add the black pepper and cheese in.
4. Mix well and serve hot!

2. Tom Yam Chicken

Ingredients:
* sliced chicken
* garlic & onions (chopped & sliced)
* canned mushrooms (sliced)
* tomyam paste
* chilli paste (optional)

Steps!
1. Sauté garlic and onions with a drizzle of olive oil till it turns slightly brown.
2. Add chicken in and cook it till only a little pink in the chicken is left.
3. Add the mushrooms and the tomyam paste and mix well.
4. Add in chilli for more kick! (Optional)
5. Ensure that the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
6. Serve hot!

Hamsters

Hey all! My hamster gave birth to a litter of 8 babies and I don't have the capacity to look after so many!

Please, whoever out there can help and would love to take care of a baby hamster, do contact me for adoption info and all!

The hamsters need to go to good homes and I will want updates about them!

Note: hamster was in a spoon cos I was cleaning the cage!

#2. Blue & Red

Bought a new sheer maxi skirt from KissJane last week and I wore it on Sunday with Siuli who coincidentally had a sheer maxi skirt too. My maxi skirt was blue with slits at the side and hers was wine red with pleats.

I really like maxi skirts/dresses as they are reallllly comfy and you don't have to worry about exposing anything plus they are really easy to match with. TIME TO GET MORE MAXI STUFF!

On me: Striped Top from Hang Ten, Maxi Skirt from KissJane, Studded Pumps from H&M

Found a few from ASOS I like. All Prom worthy!  :)

Born Lippy

Got a new lip shimmer and tinted lip balm for Christmas 2012 from The Body Shop thus decided to do a review on it!

It's my first time using make up products from The Body Shop and after trying it out, I really really like it! Love the texture, the color, the smell, the packaging etc! Basically in one word, awesomeness.

I don't really like too vibrant or neon colors for just casual wear so this two lip products work really well for me! If you prefer more color, this won't suit you! Do look at the swatches that I did for reference.

To me, smell is a really vital factor to whether I will purchase the product and that is also why I own so many Body Shop soaps, shampoos, perfumes & moisturizers as all the scents smell really good and just make you feel revitalized. As for these two, they are full of fruity goodness and not only make your lips look good but smell good! Plus points for this!

Also I like that the texture of the lip shimmer & tinted balm are similar to that of a Chapstick. It stays on much longer than usual lip gloss and looks like lip gloss while keeping your lips moisturized. Some lip glosses are too liquid and you have to keep reapplying it but this one stays on unless you eat.

The product comes in a pot packaging thus it's easy to carry around. Also unlike some other products that come in a metal pot packaging, this one is easy to open! Thumbs up on its user friendliness!

Will try to post a photo soon to show y'all how it really looks like on the lips! Hope this was useful:-)
